History of our Inn of Court

The Hon. William B. Enright Inn of Court is an American Inn of Court chartered in 1991 by the American Inns of Court Foundation. It is named in honor of the late United States District Court Judge William B. Enright, who was very involved in the development of the American Inns of Court, as well as a highly respected leader of the judiciary in San Diego.

The judges and lawyers who were instrumental in establishing the Enright Inn of Court are Justice Howard Wiener (Ret.), Hon. Kevin Midlam (Ret.), Justice Judith Haller (Ret.), Virginia Nelson, Hon. James R. Milliken (Ret.), Suzanne Stanford, and Hon. William McCurine, Jr. (Ret.)

Our past Presidents include Hon. Howard Wiener (Ret.), Hon. James Milliken (Ret.), Hon. Kevin Midlam (Ret.), Virginia Nelson, Kenneth Turek, Robert Grimes, Hon. William McCurine, Jr. (Ret.), Robert S. Brewer, Hon. David Danielsen (Ret.), Hon. Kevin Enright, Hon. Maureen Hallahan, Susan M. Hack, Nancy Stagg, Hon. Barbara L. Major, Craig R. McClellan, Hon. Judy S. Bae, and Hon. Michelle Pettit.

Our current President is Hon. Jill Burkhardt.

Presently, the Hon. William B. Enright Inn of Court is the largest American Inn of Court in San Diego County, measured by total members and active Masters.
